Stella Asia Consonni
Stella is a London-based Director and Photographer originally from a small town in Northern Italy. Representing raw humanity is what drives Stella’s work, in all its tumultuous and delicate aspects. Stella picked up a camera aged fourteen as an excuse to skip Ancient Greek class and portray her restless friends and their journey into finding their adult self. A couple of years later, with this collection of images, Stella held her first solo exhibition. Photography served as Stella’s introduction to filmmaking, the medium granting her the opportunity to dive deeper into the themes and ideas she grew up cherishing.
To this date, Stella has directed for the likes of Gucci, Burberry, Prada, Armani, Nike, Adidas, Sony Music, Atlantic Records and Google, along with editorial pieces for i-D, Dazed & Confused, Nowness, Vogue Italia, British Vogue and Vogue China.
Stella's work has been shortlisted and top 10 at Berlin Commercial 2022 & 2021 and shortlisted at Berlin Fashion Film Festival 2022 & 2021, 1.4 Festival 2022, 2021 & 2020, Milano Fashion Film Festival 2020 & 2019. In October 2022, Stella premiered her narrative short 'Dear Dad' at Angelika Film Center in NYC. In April 2019, Stella showcased her ‘Love Me’ project as solo exhibition at Protein Studios, London. The same project was part of a 6 months exhibition at Ground Seesaw in Seoul, Korea, in April 2022. Her photography was shortlisted at the Palm Photo Prize and showcased in the prize group exhibition at East Photographic Gallery, London, in 2021
